Gain a unique and hands on insight into the techniques used by our ancient ancestors to work flints into a range of tools such as axeheads, knife blade and arrowheads.
In the morning we will examine genuine artefacts associated with primitive tool making and then work to familiarise ourselves with the processes and equipment used by ancient people, particularly the cross over from stone age to bronze age, whilst sat amongst the Bronze Age Settlement discovered here on the farm. Cam (archaeologist) will be joining us to share some of the exciting archaeology discovered here.
You will then be guided through the process of crafting flint tools, from first selecting your flint, through to key knapping techniques.
In the afternoon you will have the opportunity to make a knife complete with a wooden handle using all natural materials.
