About the Day

Each session is centred around a different seasonal theme or topic and will guide the kids towards a deeper understanding of the natural world by sparking curiosity, activating imaginations and exploring the senses.
The structure of the day will include guided activities, learning to identify plants and animals in the local ecology, and outdoor play. Sometimes we light a small campfire and gather around to sing songs or cook something together. This gives children the opportunity to learn some basic natural fire lighting skills and learn how to keep safe and respect the fire. We often offer a seasonal snack with ingredients foraged from the land, which is a fun way of connecting with nature through the sense of taste!
Each session is a little different, but here are some examples of things you can expect your children to take away a nature connection day
