
A fun and educational day out in nature on our farm for all the family to enjoy!
Learn the ancient knowledge of:
-How to process acorns into nourishing food
-Learn how to gather, store and process acorns
-Together we will prepare a tasty feast over a fire
-Nature inspired song and story, craft and food for all the family
Who is this workshop suitable for?
The day is suitable for adults and accompanied children, both beginners level and those with more experience in nature connection.
Led by Anna Richardson - Anna has been a nature mentor and trained Forest School leader for over 20 years, working with children of all ages and mentoring adults in plant lore, foraging, nature connection and bushcraft. The 8 shields deeply informs Anna's work and approach. She is passionate about connecting to nature through creativity and reverence for life and is also a forest school trainer through Circle of Life Rediscovery and has co-authored two books: Learning with nature and The Children's Forest and is the founder of The Children's Forest.
Facilitator Emma Ross - Emma is a Forest School leader, Children's Forest Facilitator and Coach and Facilitator in her Equine Assisted Personal Development work with horses and nature. Emma is the guardian of the farm at Wilding in the Weald, alongside her husband Cam and son Kobe, where they are rewilding the farm. Home to a herd of 13 horses, 2 donkeys, pigs and sheep Emma is passionate about the natural world and creating a space where nature can thrive and all who visit can connect and enjoy nature.
What to wear:
Please dress appropriately for the time of year, we will be outside! Wellies and warm and waterproof clothing is a must, Expect to get mucky!
Food and drink:
Bring snacks, lunch and a drink (we will make a yummy snack from the acorns too!)
